The conversion of a thrift store Barbie doll into the SIL from the Sci-Fi horror film “Species.”
She’s a SILie girl, in a Barbie world.
(Barbie spinal column accessory sold separately.)
I may add a “little” more detailing to the blades, but I think I need to concentrate on mold prep of the main figure now.
All pieces complete.
Sanding the last of the blades for her arms and legs. Then it will be tyme for mold preparation.
Blades on the arms and legs on the right side of the body have been roughed out: the left is still just wire. Still, I see SILie being completed soon and this is a good thing, I have a bigger project to start
ZZ Top once wrote a song about this.
Spine, arm, and leg blades attached, but not permanently. I have molding plans ahead.
Beginning spinal, arm and leg blades. Making this to be removable, for casting.
Close now. Toe claws, then blades.
I seem drawn to balance objects and situations that most right thinking folk would not consider. I removed the heels from SILie’s built-in shoes to match the character. I proceeded to pose her standing because that is one of the things that I do.
It has been such great fun building a better Barbie™. Though SILie is far from finished, I am already looking to make a second. Maria, will be a more metropolitan girl.
Girl friend just got her hair did.
SILie be rock'n dem cornrows.
Up next; Tyme to get nails did.
Front torso mostly complete. Little by little.
She may have started out as a Barbie, but in my care each day she becomes a little more SILie
I am making a Barbie for women who are very selective in their dating preferences. To be quite honest, she is a little SilIe.
I felt creepy enough buying a Barbie™ from a resale shop in the first place. Then it seemed like I should be putting on “Goodbye Horses” and doing a little dance as I shaved her head. When I cut open her face I knew I was beyond redemption.
